Hi All,

Just brushing up on welding......and aquiring new skills.

In the very near future, I'm starting the build of a 57' narrowboat. I have a Pickhill giant oil cooled stick machine and an Esab 315? mig plant.

No doubt I'll be back to get anwers to the problems that will be cropping up...

Hi John. I'm just finishing a 50' wide beam. All migged, but if I were doing it again i'd have a nice big oil cooled for those windy days...

Hi Si, yeah, that's one of the reasons I'm practising on the pickhill. Rods are next to nothing on the web.......sure beats argon at £60 a time...

Hahaaa.....shenion, you noticed. I chose JBweld cos' I have a sense of humour........might need it too........if the welding fails to come up to speed, might be sticking the boat together with it...
