Hi new to the forum, I do a bit of welding at work with an arc welder (enough to get me out the crap) I'm a shift engineer in a laundry so we have chemicals that eat metal for breakfast.

I have a project on the go at home a bmw e36 compact it was more of an impulse buy than anything, as I'm sort of restoring it/ putting a bigger engine in I have uncovered some rot / damage which has bee porley sorted which I hope you lot might be able to shed some light on different ways I could go round fixing it but I'll start a different thread for that.

Welcome to the forum, you will need to look at mig welding for the car as you will struggle using an arc welder.

Yes your right I have a mig welder here at home a Clarke mig pro 90 (well it's a friends) but I only use a stick welder at work.
