Hi, just joined and thought i'd better introduce myself. My name's Dave and i live in the Portsmouth area, i've always loved classic cars and had a few projects but never actually did anything to them, partly because i was too scared to in case i messed them up. Now I have two projects and i'm gonna take the plunge to prove a point to myself and others that i can do it. Problem is i have no idea what i'm doing I have been doing plenty of reading and research, it can't be that hard can it? The projects i have are a 1957 Austin a35 with mot and tax but very tired and tatty, rusty and paint worn down to red oxide primer. This is the first project I want to get up to reasonable standard, nothing flash but just nicer to look at. The second project is a 1977 mg midget, mot just run out, again rusty and tatty. Eventually i would like to put a 1.8 k series engine in it. I understand This is no easy task and these projects will take a long time but i need a hobby so time is not a problem. The other problem is my garage is the great outdoors, but i do have a shed in the garden that i can do some stuff in. If anyone has an interest in these two types of cars or has a project in the area and wants a free apprentice i would love to hear from you. Great site by the way people have put a lot of effort into it and it is a really good incentive for newbies like me!
