New to the forum, after years of oxy/aceteline welding had to buy
a mig to do some work with stainless for the better half's stained glass
business. Done a stack of stick welding at work.

Will probably need to pick a few brains about shielding gases for stainless

Have got a tax exempt V8 mgb to sort out , been stood a couple of years
and when under my old 89 XJR last w/e I think I'll have some work to
do on that soon.

Welcome to the forum 'fingers the V8 mgb sounds nice, any chance of a few pics ?

As for gases, Argoshield light (or similar) is the main one used for stainless, though i hear some use pure argon, you cant use CO2 as it contaminates the weld with stainless. Air products do a gas called Aztec or something specifically for stainless, it is sposed to be good but it should be with refills at £90 a time!!!

Thanks for the welcome, have no pics for the V8, its covered
in 1/2" dust. Will ask questions about stainless steel grades and

Hi ballores got a 1970 2a diesel quietly rotting away at work
was considering buying a later series 3 and swopping the vin
plate and No plates but just couldn't bring myself to rob the
government. Anyway she who must be obeyed wanted something
with power steering so I bought on old Sportrak.
