Have just registered. Will have two queries to pose once I've worked out where to post them:
1.Motorcaravan roof is peeling a thin layer of paint. Roof is GRP. Need to know how to best strip loose paint layer, prime and repaint. ( I have a good match of Hammerite but havent heard of it used on GRP) On roof it wont show.
2. Have Siegen MiniMig 130, but no manual, so cant work out what I need to connect a gas bottle to 3-4 mm plastic pipe.

Welcome aboard nutrientz, I have not got a clue on the first one but if you have a look here you will see regulators for the small disposable cylinders (be warned they don't last very long) and further down the page conversion kits to use hobby migs with large rental or rent free bottles. Note CO2 and CO2/Argon mix have different tops, there is a conversion kit for each type. ( other sellers are available but Steve from Weld Equip is a good egg and forum supporter)

When fishing I had a few GRP boats over the years and renovated some of them.

I used a flat bed sander to get back to the gel coat, standard body filler and stopper to make good any marks, then using International brand marine paint applied an undercoat and top.

I of course realise you probably have no intention of submerging the roof in the sea but if the paint was good enough for coastal use then will manage your purpose with ease.

I never used Hammerite but I also would never use it, no specific reason other than it just not seem the right paint for that purpose.
