Hi all.
I have a much loved 1984 Hobart mig (I'm led to believe is a rebranded Migatronic )which has started playing up. Recently when i turned the machine on the gas and torch power came on , eventually they released and i was able to use the machine but I went to use it today and again the gas and power came on (without trigger) I know the trigger is fine because the wire feed still operates as normal when you press the trigger, its the other two functions that are jammed on. I was just able to do an emergency weld with it like this and after it warmed up a bit it seemed to release the power and gas ( but not completely , it was kind of buzzing and sticking half way between on and off sometimes)
If i unplug the D connector on the PCB the contactor and gas shut off so it's a fault on the PCB.
I can't see anything obvious wrong, but if someone could steer me in the right direction as to what transistors or capacitors might be responsible for driving the contactor and gas valve I can have a bash at mending it.
Thankyou.
