Horse shoe project.

I've been asked to weld some horse shoes to some mild steel bar (already have the bar 1/2"), what would be the best rod to use?

Would use mig but it's only a 130 (sip) and I don't reckon it's got the oomph.

Why not? is the horse still attached to them??
It's for decoration right? or does it need to be strong?

Thanks for the replies, yes just for decoration. I'd have a go at fighting most things but I think a horse might be a bit big just to get the shoes!

Wait till you try for crocodile shoes, we trapped 18 of them and not one had any shoes on so that was a real waste of time.

As requested some photo's of the shoes, nothing very complicated realy, 6 in all. I ended up using my stick as the mig weld just sat on the top the metal (was on max power and wire speed was quite fast).
