House Sign

Made up this sign, out of some 2mm sheet, 50mm box , 8mm plate and 3x20 flat.
. Just waiting for the paint to arrive , painting http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=26100&highlight=stairs&page=3 in the same stuff. welded another 2mm skin on the back , flush with the flat so the the plug and spot welds cant be seen

I like that a lot I reckon they were bought, never worth messing about making your own like that....
Could you not just plug weld then sand them flush on the back, save the skin on the back...?

Its a sign for the cottages we are rebuilding.I definitely dont have a steady enough plasma hand for the letters, i bought them from from north valley forge, yes i plugged them both ways.The second skin covers the welds from the 3 x20 flat to the front piece too and just make it look nice and chunky

Got it finally sprayed today but the paint i thought would be darker but still

Hate to mention this, only just noticed, is the 'C' in cottage upside down/back to front?

Oh yes , looks like its going to have to come off then .... will sort it out this weekend i was thinking of making a flower pot thats goes underneath so have to grind a bit of paint off and weld and spray again , Thanks for spotting it out though never noticed until now

Whilst you're at it I would lean the 'O' over a bit, make it the same angle as the other letters.

The 'U' could do with being turned clockwise a tad.

.....and the first 'P' and the 'E' in 'UPPER' seem to be at different heights.

Stop picking faults with it and give a bit of credit where it's due!!
Nothing wrong with it as it is, even the upside-down C isn't that noticeable.
If he were paying someone good money to make it it's different but Rob's made it himself, for himself.
