Hi there, I've just bought myself a 10 gallon sand blasting pot and itching to try it out. Not going to use kiln dried sand because I don't fancy killing myself over a car. Anyway back to the question. How much media do I need to buy? Intention is to blast the inside of the car of all paint, then maybe move onto external areas. How much blast media should I purchase? Also any recommended suppliers in Surrey?

Do you intend to use reusable or single use? If you're doing it outside I'd recommend single use J-Blast Supafine. In practice you can use it 3 or 4 times before it gets too dusty. You'll need to sieve it to re use, a normal kitchen sieve should be OK.
It comes in 25 Kg bags, at a guess 1-1/2 bags should fill the pot (which I reckon is nearer 8 than 10 galls if you do the sums)
How much do you need? How big is your car? What type of paint? how thick? The cheapest way is to buy a 1 ton pallet, (40 bags) you'll certainly won't need it all but if you have dry storage it will come in handy one day.

Wow, I was going to sand blast a few projects but a ton of media is too much for me to hide! Maybe split the cost with a few people? I reckon I'd buy 10-15 bags (enough for a few scooters
