how to use propane tank as air receiver

Hi I have had a search on the site and Im looking into using a propane tank as an air receiver for my clarke 50l compressor. I just have a few questions

1. how do I connect the tank to the compressor ?

2. Over time will it damage the compressor as its doing more work than it should by filling larger tank.

3. and finaly most important think is it safe to use will the tank be ok with the pressure that will be put into it.

Any help would be great.

hey,
1. youllbe able to connect the tanks together with reducing unions thatll go on the bottle valve hole then througha hose to the outlet on the front of the compressor tank, again probably with another reducing union

2. it depends on the duty cycle of the compressor, have a look in the manual

3. the propane tanks are rated to hold about 15 bar of pressure (i think) and is safe to use with a compressors pressure

Propane tanks are tested to about 30 bar

i was thinking about doing this also! would it work with a hydrovane though and would it have a high enough duty cycle?
