Humbrol Airbrush Adapter

Trying to ID this connection on an old airbrush kit. Looked at various sites & sent a few emails ( no response yet) but cannot find what I need as I'm unsure myself.
The instructions say use a can of propellant - I would rather have a bit more leeway by using my compressor, or something more reusable like a tyre.
Do I need an adapter which will contact the 'pin' in the center?

You will need to disconnect the hose from the existing adapter and get a barbed fitting with a pipe thread to then use a quick disconnect. You will also need to set your regulator pressure; they use low pressure, I think I ran mine at 10PSI.

If you use a tyre, make sure you have a good filtration system set up. I tried it once many years ago, and every couple of minutes the nozzle on the air brush would block up with the little fibres that were inside the tyre.

I have a Devillbis airbrush with a very similar fitting (as you correctly guessed ) for fitting to a can of propellant. It also has a small adaptor with external thread to screw into the fitting & an internal thread which fits a standard tyre valve. When using either propellant can or tyre as your source the "tap" in the fitting must be screwed down to open can or tyre valve to allow the propellant (or air through).

Thank you shenion - That seems a much better option as it would allow me to fit an inline mini regulator.

RonA - Yes I think that's what I had in mind, although as you deduced, I am having difficulty with knowing what size.
I am more akin to go with shenions suggestion in the first instance for the stated reason. Thank you for the offer; I may take you up on that if the alternatives are budget busters as I only need the tool for a small one off task.

Wrekin came up trumps with a 4mm straight & 4mm x 1/4" BSPT all for £2.90: Life is so much easier when you're shown the right path...
