HVLP bambi apollo systems

I posted a "cheep a cheerful" thread on here for an air compressor and spray gun (a few days ago) to do some light spray work on my van. The more I look into buying a cheap DIY compressor the less attractive the option looks what with tank condensation, air paint bubbles and what not.

What do people think about the bambi apollo systems? I've been told there really good and that water getting into the paint isn't a problem with them. Just wondered what the general consensus was on them for spraying? Would probably go for one of the below!

Unless you are looking for a top quality finish they should be fine. Basically they work on a large volume of air at relatively low pressure so the type and consistency of the paint being used is going to determine the finish.

I painted an Escort with a much older version of one of those borrowed from my brother in law and it came out so well no one would believe I did it myself. The turbine warms the air slightly which helps as well.

I borrowed an older model from a friend. It worked well for my main spraying and I was very pleased with the result.

However when I wanted to spray small amounts, for rectification, the large syphon paint pot resulted in alot of waste. Due to them using their own fixings and continuous airflow you can't substitute a small touch up gun. With some effort you could fabricate a smaller paint pot.

I have the early version of the spraymaster. used it a couple of times for full re-sprays. Does deliver warm dry air with very little overspray. You do need to thin the paint quite a lot for good atomisation. Very clean way to spray workshop stays clean, very little bounce back. The spray 'master' has twin stage 1200w turbine never runs out of air and is ready to use as soon as you turn it on, no waiting for air to build up etc.
Pity youre so far away, I would of let you have it for £50. Its still in its box with instructions etc.
