HVLP Spray pump with Kremlin gun - What have I got here? - *SOLD*

Hello All,

This is one of stupid late night ebay purchase. I was looking for a HVLP gun and saw this one and bid and won. It turned up and realised I was in way over my head. The seller said he would send me on instructions but never did. I realise now I am never going to use this as I don't have the room and or a decent compressor.

Anyway here are some pics can someone tell me what I have here? There does not seem to be any make on the pump but I do know it works.

I paid £130 for it, I realise I have no hope of getting anything like that back for it but if I know what it is I might be able to sell it on.

looks interesting! havnt a clue but at a guess i would say the cut tube is the air supply, the black tube hanging down is a syphon tube that goes in the paint. regulators controll the paint flow/pressure and spay pressure?

on the gun the hose in the handel is the air supply, the hose near the nozzle is a paint supply.

looks like a mass production type of thing for spraying very large areas, means you dont have to keep filling a gun up and makes it lighter. could all be wrong though, never used such a device before

It looks like it's used for painting walls with emulsion etc, I've seen something similar on a DIY program.

Pretty spot on I think, it looks the same as one I had in a commercial spray booth for blasting primer onto steelwork, the paint came in 20 litre drums, just drop the pickup tube in the top and fire away, they're not much use for finishing but ideal for quick primer jobs, chassis work etc.

I wonder if it is missing a motor it could be some type of air less sprayer or low-volume air sprayer there seems to be a hole under the pump type thing have you checked to see if there is a shaft there
are less sprayer usually cost thousands so give it a good cleen up and maybe respray it you'll probably get your money back

looks like these kind of devices - http://www.sprayingequipment.co.uk/products.html probably a low pressure system as it has a diaphragm pump, its a start to search for details. theres a kremlin site too but too many products to search though

the pumps air powered, dosnt need a motor. but im sure once you figure it out you can sell it for at least what you payed, an enterprising builder wanting to spray a house or something

Its not an airless system, you would have only one hose to the gun. I would think one side give suction for the paint, and pressureises it just enough to get it to the gun, then the other is the actual air controls, as you would have on a 'normal' spray gun.
The pipe between the two gauges i expect is the air inlet?
The red cylinder will be housing a filter for the paint.

its an airless air assist setup bit of a mouthfull, i used to use them when i sprayed aircraft in the raf you mix the paint in a 25 ltr drum stick the pickup pipe in and off you go, the cut pipe in the middle of the gauges is the feed from the compressor

I think it's an older Kremlin brand air assisted pump for spraying lacquer on cabinets/furniture. The pump might be a prototype or maybe not even a real Kremlin? The gun looks newer than the pump. I know for a fact that newer Kremlin systems ($2000 US) produce a great finish.

thats a compresed air twin diaphragm pump on thathigh pressure in. lower pressure high volume out

you could put any syphon type gun on the end of those hoses providing the fitting was the same they work exactly the same as any spray gun apart from the obvious paint supply system.
