Hydrovane 15 - need some help

Get the compressor all put together today and wired up to what i think is correct.

I got the start up capasitor that was recomeded to me my a helpfull person on here. and thats wired up i think correctly - it has 4 terminals with a line seprating 2 of them off from each other so i supose that ether side of the line is poisting and the other side negative.

But each time i start it up it blows the 13amp fuse in the plug - should i be useing a biger fuse or is it wired up wrong

i can upload pics a bit later today if need be of the wireing

Hi Jimmy,

yeah the 2.2Kw motor is too much for a standard 13amp plug. I had an existing 30A ring which I run my welder on with a 20 amp B type RCD. When I first connected my Hydrovane (wired with a blue 16amp plug) it would still trip the RCD on startup. The RCD has to be upgraded to a C type (suited for equipment with a motor). I couldn't get a direct replacement 20A C type for my MCB so had to upgrade to a 25A C type and it worked fine since then.

I had to install a 20a c breaker for my hv02

The plug fuse shouldn't blow on a 15, possibly an MCB could trip if it's not a C type but the fuse shouldn't blow. There is probably a fault, motor or wiring.
