Ordered a new coupling as the one on my own machine had shattered
Stripped and inspected the pump and can see nothing wrong. Correct amount of oil and no scoring, corrosion or real wear, turns freely by hand. Oil needed changing (a bit black) but quantity was correct.
This compressor side of the coupling is machined from alloy and looks really nice but the motor side looks shocking. Look at the rusty bolts used I suspect to balance the impellor.
Any thoughts? I’m reluctant to fit this in case it causes damage.
It’s a pattern part. If it was £10 fri. China is maybe accept it for what it is but it’s £90 from a Uk supplier
I suspect given that there’s a pattern part available that there’s good enough demand for them to produce them
Motor starts and runs quietly, original impellor ran true, just the lugs on the drive side had sheared off.
