Hydrovane 502 contactor not locking

I have a Hydrovane 502 Single Phase 2.2Kw Motor that was working fine until a fuse on the supply blew (due to being too small).
The supply has been upgraded now but now the contactor won't lock on (otherwise the compressor seems to run fine while the start button is pressed)

From the manual (http://www.compaircal.com/V01.pdf page 46/47) I seem to have the "02 Single Phase (PUTS) Starter" which has an overload device connected to the contactor.

Does anybody know if the overload protector has tripped?

The overload protector is set to 18Amps (start load of the motor is up to 16.0 to 17.5 Amps) and it is also set to Manual with the blue sort of button is sprung out with it's pointer pointing upwards to R

If it has tripped then can it be reset? If so how?
Or is there another problem?

Push the blue bit in. It should latch in place if the overload has tripped.
If that does not work you have another problem.
Can you post a photo of the inside of the complete starter.

Blue Button won't latch

I've tried pressing in the blue button but it just pops back out again and won't latch in.

To test if it is the overload or something else disconnect one of the red wires and connect it to the other red wire put both in the same terminal. Try the compressor. If it runs then the overload is faulty. If it does not run then the fault is elsewhere.

On the printed circuit board there is a clear relay is that relay clicking when you try to start the machine.

Yes the clear relay is clicking and joining the two red wires on the overload protection does not help.

You can put the red wires back to original positions.
Do you have a multimeter.
Is the receiver is empty.

Yes to multimeter

Yes to multimeter and the Receiver is about at half pressure (5bar) due to the multiple start attempts. But can be drained.

Sorry had to shoot out last night a 1000cfm compressor needed a bit of attention.
The orange/red cable entering the starter is the temperature sensor what is the resistance between the red and blue wires from this cable.
Does the clear relay click and stay made when you release the start button.

Resistance

The resistance of the temperature sensor is 0.124 KΩ

The clear relay clicks but does not stay made when you release the start button.

Cant remember what the temp sensor resistance should be> I should be able to check tomorrow. Looking at a wiring diagram either the temp sensor, pressure switch or printed circuit board is faulty.
You could try linking them out to try the comp but only run for a few seconds.

It works now



Looks like it was a loose wire connecting to the circuit board, after disconnecting some when checking the resistance of temp sensor and checking the wiring it now works.
(the compressor had been moved when upgrading the wiring)
