Hi I have a HV01 hydrovane which will not produce air. I have taken it apart and the vanes look good however the oil which came out was quite dirty any ideas. She was made in 1993 and dont want to scrap her. Any help appreciated.
Are the vane free to slide in and out in the rotor slots so they keep in contact with the cylinder. Sometimes turning the vanes over so the new unused edge face out to contact the cylinder works
Try compressorman he sorted another member out with a new one recently when hers died and it seems what he doesn't know about hydrovanes isn't worth knowing .
has anyone got some internal pics of the hvo1 as have service manual but no decent pics indicating what is acceptable wear on vane or stator and i have a problem as diagrams very unclear where internal valve and internal filter go cheer anone who can help
The hydrovane works on a very simple principle. Check your vanes for damage along with the barrel.
If ok are your seals ok? I think youll find they are knackered. If they are clear they shold be 0.05mm thick. Purchase some laminator pouches. Cut out two gaskets. Make sure you clean up all surfaces properly. You wouldnt beleive how much a little bit of old gasket will stop the pressurisation of the unit.
Thats it, there is nothing else to it. The reed valves are only for over heating the thermovalve at the end that controls the flow into the rad can be dumped if the seals have gone.
Now it a case of changing the oil separator and fresh oil.
There should not be any wear on the vanes or stator.
Which manual do you have different manuals have different diagrams.
Which filter and valves are you trying to place.?
cheers gary will now be able to assemble - there is some minor scuffing on the stator and vanes - but this owes me nothing cause scrounged this and the rebuild parts bar a gasket that i will make so if runs and makes air i will be very pleased - andy
just wondering if anyone can help the service manual for the hv02 has very limited fault finding - I got another second hand one and was working ok for a while built pressure no problems but not used for a while and now will not reach full pressure on the gauge and seems to have high pressure in the oil chamber - I have stripped the cover and looked at the stator and vanes ,all looks ok as well as the oil return and oil cooler any ideas would help as only obvious fault looked like the gasket between the separator housing and rotor chamber seemed to have failed rebuilt using sealant and still will not build full pressure - what else would create high pressure in the oil chamber and low output of air ?- thanks in advance andy
probaly simalar issues to what screw units get. the compresor itself is very simpel and probaly not the issue the vlves that controll it tho stick with lack of use, they are responsible for opening shutting the intake and recirculating valves.
if its intake isnt opening or its stuck recirculating its going to struggel to make any real flow you'll see pressurised oil but next to no air delivery
