Hydrovane rebuild

I've been given a large 3ph 7.5HP Hydrovane. It lat ran about 5yrs ago, but was not producing the correct amount of air, for want of a better description. The electric motor is band new. But what I don't know about is the condition of the pump, the plate on it only has 2 letters and 2 numbers on it (sorry cant remember) I will look tomorrow.

So worst case, what could this cost to rebuild. (yeah I know how long is a....)

It depends upon the model of the machine. Some of the earlier ones take much longer to do. Some of the older parts are no longer made.
A full rebuild may not be required.
There are several faults that can lead to a drop in air output. If you can tell me the model I can try to help you solve the problem.

I acquired one a few years ago, though it ran it did not have a high output, the shims, parts etc to recon it were going to cost nearly £500, i scrapped it as totally uneconomic to repair.

I had a 7.5HP one and the 'repair' for that was to make new vanes. They were centrifugally thrown outwards from slots in the rotor, and worn at the tips. Made new from the fabric based paxolin (Carp??)and it worked fine. The other item needed was the felt filters which are no more than a stack of felt discs easily cut with a large wad cutter
