No particular species just a generic tree frog that's identifiable as such .... given the alien guess, I might be failing

Thanks. It's something I'm working on.
I need decent pictures as I'm entering more exhibitions etc.. these days.
Still only using my phone, it gets okay results.
I do have my Fathers old Nikon which might get better results (if I could work it out) although I think the background and lighting are the most important thing.

I am no photographer but I can tell you that lighting is extremely important, light colour and angle can make a huge difference . Also background colour can change things as well, drop a piece of black behind and take a picture with a light and dark background to see the difference.
Maybe one of the resident camera people will chime in with some more advice.
