I knocked over my compressor and need a spare part.

Typical.... I buy a 2nd hand cheap and cheerful compressor for general home use. 5 mins after I get home I tripped and knocked it over. I think it's the relief valve housing I cracked off. The threaded part is damaged.

Can I buy these new? What is this part called?

Marksmann 66163c 2hp.

That's the non-return valve. Machine Mart would probably be the easiest bet. Take the old one with you for comparison.

You would have to find what your thread is on the valve.

I changed the valve on my compressor as it was worn and sticking. New one was about 12 quid plus vat

I broke that valve on my Aldi/Wolf compressor a few years ago when I dropped a hammer which bounced off the workbench, hit me on the knee then bounced onto the compressor under the bench. The replacement was about £10 I think. That's the valve, not my knee obviously.

I wouldn't buy from the manufacturers as they rip people off for spare parts. Trying to buy a con-rod for a mates ABAC compressor. £70 +vat + postage. New piston rings for a sip cheapie £ 48 +vat + postage.
Thread sizes are normally BSP 1/2" or 1/4" or 3/8" etc.

Well we're all ears(eyes in this case) as to where you can buy the stuff cheaper.

Things like elbows, regulators, pressure relief valves etc,.as in the ops requirement, anywhere else e.g. ebay, machine mart etc.
Things like con-rods I think they've got you/ me by the short and curlies.
No reason for the excessive mark up on spare parts except that they can. Imagine if you had to buy Ikea furniture either flat-packed or assembled, which would you expect to be cheaper?
Just bugs me. I still remember the days when you bought Ford because the parts were cheap and they were easy to work on.

But thats the nature of the game though isn't it, buy a gillette fusion blade razor and its cheap,the blades is where the money comes in and you cannot interchange blades.

Can I ask why you didn't attempt to weld the conrod? if that was the cheapest price.

Well it would have been worth a try before buying a newin,could have just been metal fatigue? unless its been known as a common fault pertaining to that model?

so lets say they welded the con rod only next time it failed even worse and took the crank case out, then its game over and new pump required, cheaper not to take the risk

Hi, Not sure and when I looked again it's not the same so I went with this one which I'm pretty sure is the right one.

Paid £45 but the damaged was me so bit gutted. Fingers crossed it's going to be OK. Let you know.

Looking at the two Ebay valve you listed the difference is one uses olives to seal the pipes and the other a tapered seat or pipe flare. Have you removed yours and checked?
