Ok guys I need help im hurrendus at making decisions I need a new mask to weld day
In and out with ive got a esab globe arc and a cheap 3 m I want a quality mask thats gunna last and not give me sore eyes idealy comfortable as well open to all views
Miller elite
Speed glass xx think its 100
Optrel 680
Maybe a esab

Any one used the above masks really need some advice

I use the optrel E680, it's not cheap but it is a very nice piece of kit, I wear a £20 dust/fume respirator under the mask and they fit together with no problem and no fogging up of the mask inside. This is my second optrel, the first one was the satellite and lasted about 7 years which was damn good. The grinding mode is helpful and the varying shades of darkness are helpful too. Before this I had the big old fashion hand held arc welder mask but found it a pain. I dare say someone will be along shortly to give views on the other breeds of helmet/mask

Personally you can't be the quality of the speed glass lenses, the 100v is excellent for tig welding all positions, and okay for mig and stick on the bench if you want a lense to do the out of position you will need to look at the more expensive models. I've had the 100v for 2 years and if it broke I would buy another one straight away

Thats fine im looking for good fact s to base my choice on as u cant get better fact then ppl who use equipment day In day out ive been qoted 246 plus vat for the speed glass xxl best thing they got but I want to know what else is out there before I committe to my purchase
