If someone came to me and asked me to do this, I'd of either sent them off with a flea in their ear or laughed all the way to the bank. However this job was all my making

It's a battery box for a VF1100 Trike I'm building (don't ask) anyway the propshaft intersects the secondary petrol tank and goes through the battery box, not happy with that little conundrum I decided they would look better if the corners followed the frame tubes (1.125") so they are convex

The last few are of the petrol tank, oh and the bit of cone sticking out will be cut off

Nice bit of work but before you get too deep into the trike build check the cams on the VF engine. I've had two VF1000F's and both had cams that were pitted to hell.

Very true, and it is an early VF, however I have checked them out and they are OK, I have aready done the mods to get fresh high pressure oil to them as well

Cone has been cut back and welded up on the outside. Back in the frame to make sure things line up. The battery box is a two piece jobby, because of the convex "follow the frame tubes" corners.

Is that in for good now? Can't see anyway to remove it from frame.
I sure hope that prop never lets go and ruins all that work.

No, it can come out that's why the battery box is in two parts, I had to build it insitu' and then cut it in half, (you can see the cut line in the overhead pic) it will have a strip down the middle to hold it together and also seal it up. The petrol tank is obviously one piece, and comes out the offside. It was a bit of a head scratcher

Ha You and me both fella, hope to have it finished for early season. All the work was in the battery box and fuel tank, all that really is to be done now is a bank for all the hydraulics (you'll have to wait and see) and then a dry build so I can figure where all the cables are going for tags etc

Nice work........I suppose it acts as a safety gaurd if the prop goes. I've seen a couple go on trikes now, one didn't have a gaurd and injured the rider.

Nice frame work too, good to see nice tight fish mouthing on the tubes.

Thanks for your comments guys. Everyone that sees it says the same about the prop, I can see it myself, the UJ's are new I'll need to extend the shaft but I'll get it balanced, so it doesn't vibrate my **** off, and self destruct. And most importantly the ofset is nothing to worry about, guess time will tell.

As for the fit up on the joints, I build the notcher myself (along with the tube bender, pics on here elsewhere) I don't believe in buying stuff if you can make it.
