Identification of 3f semi-automatic welding machine

Hello.
Maybe one of the esteemed forum members will identify such a machine? (I think it is German-made)
The nameplate is so worn that almost nothing can be read, but there are characteristic features - e.g. the range switch has 11 positions plus "zero" (rarely seen).

The machine is 3-phase, estimated to have a power of about 180A.

Are you sure it's 3 phase because the mains cable going into it looks like two core and earth.
Sturdy looking machine though

Yes, definitely 3 phases, classic transformer, 3 columns, you can also see 3 current paths on the contactor, and there are 3 phases on the range switch.

The MIG welder works, welds roughly OK, but identification would be useful, because I have the habit (and the ability) to check whether the MIG welder works (i.e. in the case of transformer devices with range switches) and has the efficiency specified in the nameplate.

I have an amateurish but fully useful large resistor (load resistor, i.e. a resistor made of resistance wire fi 6.5 mm, withstanding about 450A) and by connecting the resistor, testing all the ranges (the weakest and strongest will suffice, in principle) you can quickly determine whether the semi-automatic is electrically OK or not (i.e. measurement of current and voltage at the same time).

In principle, it is only for this purpose that I need identification, i.e. the nameplate.

It's a (true) 3-phase machine, that's beyond dispute :-)

I have used Google Images ( aka Lens ) to search the web for your 5th photo, without success.

Yes, the much-vaunted Google Lens algorithm gives completely random results in such a case, it just displays any kind of mig machines, as long as they have a front panel and manipulators... I guess we have to wait another 20 years for it to work effectively...

Looks like Brown, Blue, Black & Earth in the first pic, plus the rectifier is marked with a 3 phase symbol.

I think the postal code of the town is in its entirety (it's probably the old 4-digit code for former West Germany - it looks like it's 3160) and that from this postal code you could figure out what town it is. Then there's part of the name/company.Except that the new codes are 5-digit, and I can't find any code translator on the internet (old-new system)

The town is Lehrte, located 17km east of Hanover. It is known as the place where Ursula von der Leyen went to high school, and former chancellor Gerhard Schroeder won a state election there. It has a Miele factory and an Aldi logistics centre, but I have found no mention of MIG welder production....

Yes I found it to, I looked Lehrte up, I can find no info on a welding manufacture but I think the first word is "schweißtechnik" it doesn't mean a lot but a Google search coupled with "gmph" came up with some companies selling welders I tried 3160 and combination off plate and German words, came up zilch.

It is of course entirely possible, the company with its " K " logo and part word " Klug*****" maybe something and may no longer be in operation or bought out years ago.

Gmbh is the german form of limited company.
Audi Gmbh etc.


Schweisstechnik in german means welding technology.


So basically all you've got there is:

"Welding Technology GmbH"


The company is probably Kluge, Kluger, Klager etc

Sure, that all make sense, as I said in my Schweisstechnik post, I was reaching, was just trying to put things together and coming up with zilch.

But it seemed to me somewhere in Lehrte there is or was a registered company manufacturing/selling welding machines with the letter " K " as its logo starting with Klug***-----maybe.
