Identification Of Bearing Type ?

Hi,

Would anyone please be able to assist in identifying a bearing type?

It is a 4 bolt flange bearing housing but I am not sure what the correct name is for the insert. I need to get a replacement housing and insert but after searching online I cant find a correct match.

The dimensions are listed below.

Housing is 50mm square (chamfered corners).
The TDC between the mounting holes along each edge is 35mm.
The bearing bore is 12.45mm.

The bearing insert only has rotation about its vertical bore axis, there is no sideways movement. Also, there are no grub screws in the collar to tighten onto a bolt/shaft. I have attached a couple of pictures below.

I thought a pillow block bearing had the rotational axis at 90 degrees to the housing fixing holes as presented in the picture below? The bearing I have has the rotational axis in the same direction as the fixing holes.

Would anyone please know where I could buy a replacement bearing with approximate dimensions to those I listed in my original post? I will probably have to go for a more standard bore such as 12mm or 1/2" but that is OK. None of the online suppliers I have checked have this size.

It might not be a fanged/pillow block type.
You might have a standard ball bearing type in a bit of a fancy housing with some sort of spacer going through it all.

I think I need to remove the bearing housing from the frame it is fixed to and get a closer look at it? There is a collar on the top and bottom of the bearing insert and it is an odd size bore (12.45mm) with a small housing. The bearings that I have checked online with a 12mm bore have a larger housing than the 50mm square housing on the bearing I have.

I uses a manual vernier caliper that has a dial (Mitutoyo). There is another bearing on the frame and it has the same size bore. The part that the bearings are on was manufactured in Italy approximately 25 years ago

I am OK with going for a 12mm bore or 1/2" bore bearing if I could locate one. The issue seems to be that the housing size for the bore size on 4 bolt flange types are generally quite a bit larger than the housing on the bearing I need to replace. From pictures I found online it resembles a pressed steel type of housing but I have not so far found a 4 bolt pressed steel housing on the size I need.

A) It acts as a clockwise/anti-clockwise pivot with a bolt passing through it that secures an outer frame to it. The outer frame is the part that pivots.

B) Probably 25 years old or more and of Italian origin.

C) The left side of the housing is flush with the edge of the fixing it is riveted to. There is a small amount of land at the top and bottom edge of the housing and a reasonable amount of land to the right edge of the housing. I think a PCD of 54mm would run out of land on 3 sides.

It could well be a special. Remove it and see if you can find a part number, that may help you.

What sort of load is it carrying? There are plain spherical housed bushes which probably have a smaller footprint.
