Just acquired a small compressor. Only markings I can see are on the tank and are "HP3.0" and the word "Valley". Cant find any reference to machine through google. Anyone come across this type of machine?
Looks like any other basic generic Chinese-made compressor. The "HP3.0" is perhaps a ( very optimistic ) reference to the motor power - it's probably 1.5 to 2 HP, about 6 CFM, 25 litre tank. Not much else that one can say about it. Check that the motor is a 240volt one, not 110v. I think I see a drain plug at the bottom of the pump, so it's not an oil-free model. Check that the compressor crankcase has oil in it - new ones are often shipped empty - there may be a sight-glass or the filler cap may include a dipstick. If necessary, fill it up, using Compressor oil. Plug it in, switch it on ( pull the knob on the top of the cutoff switch ). The tank pressure gauge should rise steadily, after a few minutes the motor should cut off, with a hiss, at about 110 psi. Adjust the regulator to the desired output pressure, plug in an air tool, and enjoy !
