Ignition coil, is this fit to use?

Got this through the post, small chip on the plug lead post...is this just cosmetic and won't effect it's use?

Looks fine to me....only thing I would do is take off any really sharp edges as it could damage the rubber boot on the lead when you push it on.

cheers ...bit cheesed off they send it in a plastic bag , bit of wrapping would have saved it , as long as its not important i will carry on

a chip wont matter its only if there is a crack along its length it would ark

As brightspark correctly points out, if there is a crack it will eventually start to arc and build up a carbon track resulting in failure. You may not even be able to see the crack. I'd return it as you paid for a new one.
