A Alan Reynolds Member Messages 1,281 Jul 24, 2019 #9 As brightspark correctly points out, if there is a crack it will eventually start to arc and build up a carbon track resulting in failure. You may not even be able to see the crack. I'd return it as you paid for a new one.
