does anyone have experiance with this gun, i have recently brought it after much research but after using it for a few weeks have been a little let down. meant to have around 1000nm nut busting torque but a few times i have been unable to undo wheel bolts and have had to use a breaker bar.
am a technical at a main dealer so this is getting used everyday, have a large ingersoll rand compressor (will unload pics), steel air pipes come from its tank to a pcl end at each of the 15 ramps, from mine i run a short air line to a water trap then have my main rubber air line into this, all using 1/4 pcl ends, regualtor reads 90psi when operating. am unsure if the air line size is causing the lack of power or if the figures IR gives are just way over rated?

take the gun to the nearest outlet to the compressor tank and try from there. if the seperator is smaller than half inch bsp it will restrict flow
any hose that is less than 10mm will allso reduce power ,give it a try and compare the diffrence

Are you using a 10mm hose, have you lubed the gun, have you tried upping the pressure to see if there is any difference.

gun is lubed everyday. air hose in 8mm. the 1/4 pcl connectors seems very restrictive, the hole in the centre is quite small, will this be larger in 1/2 ones?

i am unable to adjust preasure on compressor, its set at 110psi tank preasure. my regualtor reads just under this and when operating this drops to near 80psi?
preasure is set low as not all air lines have a regulator fitted

theres nothing u can do about the pcl fittings without upgrading to eurofittings but u can still use 10mm hose to the gun and as long as the air supply is over 90 psi it should be ok . small bore long pipes and water seperators restrict cfm the pressure may still be there but not the volume. as i said try at source of comp 1st. that gun should work a treat

that what i was thinking, since the hose has a small id it cannot keep up with the demand of air the gun needs, hence the preasure drop shown on the regulator when its operating?

Did you get the gun new? if so I'd say return it. If it was second hand it may need a tune up(kit available).
I have the same gun and it runs in the same conditions ie 8mm hose 1/4 pcl ends and it will undo wheel nuts from 50psi up. It normally runs around 120-150 psi and at that pressure it will snap wheel bolts if you let it.

i got it new, had it for about 2 weeks.

i used it on an air outlet closest to the compressor and just the free speed it seemed faster, not used it to undo anything so cannot say its got more power.

i wanted to up the preasure, the tank has a safe working preasure of 150psi but the compressor will only fit it to 100psi, by the looks of the gauge on the front of the compressor this is all its good for, the gauge goes red after 100psi, maybe its more for air delivery speed than preasure?

this is the set up on my ramp, after thinking about it today it seems very restrictive, but when plugging my gun direct to an air line here the gun spins no faster? there is a large steel air pipe coming down the ramp, a 1/4 pcl connector into a 8mm hose going to a 1/4 water trap with pcl connector each side into a 8mm air line which is 20metre long! (switched to a shorted one today)

thinking of ditching the water trap, in the 2 weeks its been installed there was only a little bit of water in the bottom when it was a cold day, since then nothing, surely if the gun and tools are oiled daily which they are then the water should not effect anything?

Very similar setup to what we have. On ours we have steel pipe with reducers to 1/4 straight on to filter and oiler set up with quick release pcl connections. Our system runs higher psi but as I said mine will undo wheel nuts from about 50psi.
Do you have any other air guns you could try on your setup? If so how well do they work? If they seem ok then I'd say it was a fault with the gun as in my opinion the ir2135 is probably the most powerful 1/2 gun available.

update, removed the water trap, fitted a 3/8 air line and now has tons of power, removed a transit wheel nut which is torqued to 200nm on the min power setting in reverse

Sounds good

I think I'm going to knock up a short 1/2" hose just for use with the impact gun. It doesn't seem happy on a 10m 8mm hose.
