Help required please.
I bought an ingersoll rand type 30. Model number 234.
My problem is that there is an air leak from the pipe that comes out of the smaller cylinder and then goes into the crankcase. It leaks at the what I would call a valve going into the crankcase.
I’ve had a look at the valve which has a pin with an o ring in the thickest part of the pin. I replaced the o ring which made no difference. I assume there is a distance in or out of the crankcase that the brass pin housing is screwed in to.
If I stop the compressor I can hear the air escaping from around the brass housing.
If I slacken the pipe union at the top at the cylinder that releases some air and stops the leak.
I put another o ring around the brass housing which stopped the air leaking there but then it just came out the air inlet on the first/largest cylinder.
Can anyone help ? Thank you.
