Insulated Roller shutter doors

One of the bonus's of using these Insulated Roller shutter doors is the thermal heating when the sun is shining.

What price are they compared to steel ones?

I got mine from Autoroll. For the sizes you can get there is not much difference. This ones 2.1w x 2.4h and cost £700ish including vat. I looked into replacing one of the barn roller doors 4.5w x 4h and was told they don't make them that big - I never looked into it further.

Surely, and correct me if I'm wrong, but if the heat from the sun is finding it's way to the inside surface and heating it up to 35 degrees, then the insulation isn't up to much, or am I missing something.

Nope your not missing anything, the insulation is only about 14mm thick but compared to the other doors I have around here it is excellent. There is no draft, no rattling and it doesn't get any colder than the interior walls. The heat from the sun is just a very welcome added bonus.

I have an Autoroll one too - currently running water on the inside as its not really insulated, just got foam inside the ali extrusion slats. with 150mm think insulted roofing panels, my garage maintains an even temp . . . flippin freezing!
