Hello Everyone,

I'm Mike, a long time hobby machinist & occasional welder. Now that I've retired I plan to pursue my interest in learning new skills and advance beyond gas & stick welding.

My wife and I are down sizing and in the process of building a new home and garage/workshop, which hopefully be completed by next summer.

Live Steam and Astronomy are my main interests, and long term projects include fabricating a boiler & marine engine, and also a small Observatory with related equipment.

I would like to thank the members for providing the wealth of information here, and I look forward to participating and sharing what I can when I can.

Thanks for the welcome. Currently we are both in South Wales rebuilding an old stone cottage. The wife is my best friend. People say I got lucky, and I have to agree with them. We have always worked well together, and she encourages me to buy what I want; what more can a man ask.

you will find a answer to any question with the great people on here on any subject ,what they don't know they will do there best to find out for you ,just post a question and give us time to get our straight jackets off and we will answer ( or is that just me )...haha
