is a booth needed for 2 pack?

well i was just wondering is necessary to have a proper booth with an extractor fan and filters etc to spray 2 pack paint , my plan was to just but up a pvc pipe frame with some white plastic sheeting but it seems everybody who uses 2 pack uses a proper booth

you can use a makeshift booth no problems but an airfed mask is a must

ah i know dont worry i wont be risking my lungs to isocynates but i thought there was something very wrong with makeshift booths due to the amount of people using proper booth setups

how good i is all depends on you and how well you stop the drafts blowing dust around

all bodyshops use it its the best paint available

the idea of a proper booth is a
dust free environment
removal of overspray
and heat for fast curing of the paint to get jobs outt faster
plus catching the overspray in filters

but for one off's and such then a makeshift will be all you need

I've been painting using 2 pack in my workshop for the last 25 years, All you need is cleanliness, heat and an Airfed mask.

I think you maybe thinking of waterbase replacing solvent basecoat, Its not been banned as such but is being phased out, Waterbase still has 2 pack lacquer on top though.
