is bare stonechip waterproof?

say if i was tidy up some underbody scabs , prime with something suitable then grey stone chip , will that be a lasting repair?

the underside of the car is like a grey stone chip finish from new..id like to match this if possible

i wasnt sure if the stonechip needs overpainting to be water tight

I'd say the best plan would be to consult the manufacturers instructions.

seen the odd mot weld up sill patch with rust festering through it , so im thinking its not waterproof

I asked a teroson rep today and there are loads of different stonechips the original is pvc based and cant be bought or used for us peeps, i asked him about which is best and he informed me of one they just brought out its on the teroson website I'm going for raptorseal by upol its tintable and a 2k Ant!

The original chipcoate was waterproof. A bit of a pain as if it got damaged water got under it and stayed there.

i'd treat stonechip as a primer and spray over it with a aerosol can.
