I saw a video of a very simple retractor system fitted to a saw bench using either one or two scissor jacks. I have been collecting jacks but can't locate the video again....spent hours on it. lolNo its just you
Its a very good idea but it would be better in metal IMO
But then he is probably restricted by what tools and materials he has to work with.
I've seen the same principal used on hospital beds.
...or is this over engineered?
Thats a bad thing if I am trying to copy it quickly...lolThat's a bad thing? Seems effective enough, but not overly complex.
This is what I am trying to establish. I have paid for some plans as I think the guy puts a lot of effort in to make my life easier from support@carlholmgrenwoodworking.com but he also uses wood so I need to sideways engineer things for my use. I have 27 castor wheels to collect in the morning so it should be all systems go after that.Hi, Whilst I'm not dissing his woodworking skills which are obviously good, making things like that in wood end up being bulky and clunky. In metal it would have been a lot more compact and therefore discrete and arguably better. An example of the strengths and weaknesses of the different materials.

It was touch and go basic school boy errors don't do as I do do as I say sort of thing. rushing and trying to keep too many people happy. At least there was a (ex)Fireman on site?
Edit: hope it was nothing major.
