Is my lid fubared?

Hi guys, I have a no brand auto darkening helmet which was an ebay special purchased about 7 months ago, It has served me well for what I do but this past week it has become really sensitive and will darken immediately even if I just glance at a 40 watt clear light bulb, this makes it pretty difficult when your just getting the torch positioned and the damn thing goes dark. I presume its on its way out, Is there any definitive test I can carry out to tell one way or the other, altering the shade setting works fine but the delay and sensitivity switches don't appear to do anything ?.

The Sensitivity switch should sort it when set to minimum (low); it's normal for it to react to ambient light when set to maximum (high), but shouldn't do it otherwise.

Mines dead too-!

Had a miller big window thingy- been great since feb 09 but died in the middle of a frantic week- typical!!

it's just stopped reacting, i changed out the batteries, given it a good old clean, but nothing, wont even go dark when you press the reset button....

boo, time for a new one-!! looks like the ones with an air feed have come down in price, tempted-!!
