Is the CSW6T type spot welder worth getting?

I'm restoring a 1973 T2 Camper and thinking of purchasing a CSW6T spot welder which reportedly does 1mm+1mm. Would this be suffice for old VW panel work. I know I can plug weld it especially as my new porta is being delivered with the spot weld timer but my garage supply would comfortably power this bit of kit but maybe not the CSW13T 2mm+2mm. (I currently have a 16a feed fitted)

Any experience or advice.

I have a CSW13T with a 32A plug fitted, works really well as does my old PW on a 16A supply that does 2+2MM. If you are welding new sheet to old you will run into problems if there is even the slightest hint of corrosion. Also, don't think you will be fitting panels as they do on a production line, the duty cycle is listed as "3 spots per minute with a minimum down time of 20 seconds".

I've got a TWR 11kva (not for much longer, on ebay) which I've used on 1.5mm stainless. Works great and believe me, my power supply is err,,,, poor! Just a 2.5mm2 cable from the house at the moment. Not used it much, just made a couple of boxes but apart from it dimming the lights a bit, works fine. I'm no expert but I bet the clarke would work fine on your supply.

Oops! as I seem to have missed replying to this post, sorry. The PW spotwelder I have is made by Portable Welders Ltd who are still producing machines. It's quite an old bit of kit, the paperwork I have with it dates between '76 and '84 and the control box PCB has the British Federal name name upon it. I'll do some photos later.
