Hi,
I have a large compressor, no idea of the make or model, but its a bloody massive 3 phase thing, which is more than adequate for spraying with - its done plenty in the past, of both cellulose, and more recently 2k
- That's all by the old fella, who despite knowing the risks still sprays 2k without a mask at times. Although, to be fair he hasnt done any spraying for quite a while now. Probably wise!
I'd like to respray my whole car soonish, and for good finish reasons, along with easier to obtain good finishes, i'd like to do this is 2k... Now in the past, I have, stupidly sprayed 2k myself without a mask, but only on small jobs... Fortunately up to now i've never done myself any permanent damage (that I know of)
Because i'm planning a bigger job, and because i'm becoming more sensible in my (not very) old age, i've decided that i've taken too many risks already, and wish to purchase an airfed mask, so that I can use 2k with much less risks.
I cannot feed the airfed mask off the big compressor, as its located in the vicinity of where the paint fumes will be - well, I could, but i may aswell not spend 300 on mask and filters in that case.
Obviously i'll use the big comp (through the regulator as usual, as has been done literally hundreds of times) to supply the gun with air, but I need an air supply for my (yet to be purchased) air fed mask....
I do have this :-
sitting in the outhouse at home, unused... Would this supply enough air to supply an airfed mask? I could put it outside, where it'd be getting clean air, which i could then feed through a water trap, then the 3 stage filter thing, then into an airfed mask.. would this be OK?
Cheers
