Im very new to the welding field, im trying to build my gf a jewlery box, im trying to make a frame out of 1/4" cold finnished round steel. I tryed to weld it with my 115v MIG and I failed horribly, can anyone help me with wire selection, speed and power settings!!!???

I think the 115v mig is the problem esp on 1/4" steel. Got any pics?...Bob
