i'm looking to fabricate a jib crane for a workboat, the pillar will be 2 metres high, and the reach 2 metres, max load would be 1000kg, i need to know what steel sizes to use to take this load, any plans would help too.
just a thought but wont it need to be higher then 2 meters if you need a 2 meter reach on it, as the jib wont be horizontal it will fall short of a 2 meter reach
I got one for about £250 - 3 tonne metres (so a tonne at 3m reach, half a tonne at 6m or 3 tonnes at 1m etc etc). Much less hassle, you know it is rated correctly and will work.
