Joining up two compressor tanks?

Well iv got a 150lt compressor, but iv also got a small 50lt compressor that im doing nothing with, so was just wondering if there is a way i can connect them both up so in theory the tank compacity is 200lt?

If so please could somone explain how this is done?

Also if i was to do this would it mean that both the motors would still run so filling the tanks would quicker than just one of the motors? Or is it only posible to conect up the tanks and have one of the motors run?

In my head the only way i can see to link the two tanks is to make up a pipe to conect up the two drain plugs... is this right or is there a different (correct) way to do it?

Any help would be great really.

Remove the regulator/manifold assemblies and install a tee. Run a line between the two.

Set up the two motors to tun on at different pressures. Probably the small one set to run more.

You can just run one motor.

Search the threads, several here have two compressor setups.

I think i understand how you mean, to do it, so i remove both the regulators and manifolds, put a T-piece in both of them, connect one side of each to to each other, so joining the tanks, then put the regulators back on the other side of the T-pieces?

Also please could you try to explain how to adjust when the motors kick in? sorry iv never really playe with compressors.

To adjust the pressure switch you take the black plastic cover off to reveal a big spring with a nut on the end, tighten to increase pressure.

Be careful! mains voltage present.

If the compressors already switch off at slightly different pressures you needn't bother setting the pressure. It's only advisable to have the pressures different so the motors don't switch at the same time, thus avoiding mains surges.
