jun-air 6-25

I have just bought a jun air 6-25 compressor,It has a little black box on the front with numbers & a little dial in the middle, it also says test on it, i have looked around the net & cant find another with it on to see what its for,
Anyone on here know, Also where to get the oil from ? sj27. sorry about the pic

Its a trip circuit by the looks of it, a safety cut off, but variable

We have units that look like that on units at work to use as auto drains. Is it on the output from bottom of the tank?

A clearer picture or more info would help. Is there wires or pipes going into it?
I would say its a variable circuit breaker,the numbers representing the current
You allow it to draw. Put it on the lowest number and run it and see!

If it is a circuit breaker its like none I have ever seen and why would it be connected to air system? It's some kind of air solenoid defiantly just not sure if its an unloader (unlikely on what looks to be small unit) or an auto drain

The dial is attached to the tank yes, going clockwise it says off min, 1.5, 7.5, 15, 22.5, 30, how would i set it up ?

What it will do is open valve for a few seconds (3 it says) every so many minuets that the machine is powered. Frequency depends on e mount of use and water

The pipe coming off the brass bit near it goes to this bottle

That's to catch the water and any oil. There will be a vent hole on the top of the bottle I hope!

Thought it was but wasnt sure, yes it has holes in the top

I see many inline circuit breakers like these on pumps so depending on supply available etc you can limit circuit to suit. However with the other pics it does look like a solonoid attached to it, so timer or flow regulator of some sort, can't see too well on my tablet!

It does say sj27 , which is a special oil for a silent compressor, just trying to findout where from now

why would there be a condesate release valve on TOP of a tank? Unless it has a dip tube?

Those compressors are used in doctors\ dentists usually 25 ltr tank, Very quiet but not a lot of volume

Generally the staff at some of the hospitals are told nowt about the bottle and we get asked "should it be leaking out of the bottle"!
You will find when the compressor runs up to pressure and cuts out it will then, when depressurizing the pipe between the pump and tank (ready for next start up) dump any moisture into the bottle. If yo have a near by drain you could extend pipe to that. Saves you remembering to empty.
