Heres just a few things i have made at work over the past year. Extended spanner:

Crows foot adaptors for torque wrench for doing generator tappet clearences:

Just be careful with welded spanners, the welds can be brittle because of the high carbon steel, a lad at work gave himself a right whack in the gob when one let go

Yeah they can be, but difficult to weld steel rods make that much less likely.

Yep no fancy mig welders on here. Or even tig equipment but we do have a bottle of argon gas for scratch start but thats all we have, no torch or anything else.
