Have you ever been into fixing Mercedes E-Class instrument panel digital displays? The digits are corrupted on mine and I think that it's fixable although I've not had it apart myself yet.

If I can make something, adapt another bit of kit, instead of spending money I will.

Been in the Auto trade for 25yrs... Tools & equipment cost money, you need them, but they eat into the profit (beer-holiday money!)
