Hi, first post here.

Long time lurker, but as my work shop is near complete i think its time to start chipping in with my very limited knowledge.

Bit about me?

A land rover addict, i used to fix them up for people, so learned how to stick steel together with my trusty little Clarke MIG.

My current project is the workshop, a replacement for the premises i used to have years ago, but lost to a house move.

Next up is to rebuild an old ex army light weight, air portable, Landrover.

Welcome to the forum Wildfalcon, we like Landies and I have liked the light weights since one of the lads at school got a metalic blue light weight to rag around the local lanes with no canvas on. Sounds horrible? Well it was summer in the early eighties so that might explain a few things.

Welcome to the forum. I've had a few Lightweights too. Last one I built on a modified Rangy chassis. It had many different engines ending with a well tuned Ford Di. Sold it in haste and still miss it!

I'm jealous of the lightweights! Mine is just a pile of bits at the moment, everything is on hold until i build the workshop, which is taking far too long. Still, welding sockets are in, and i only need to get the compressor room wiring done in order to finish the electrics.

I'm in the Forest. Build pics will come in due course, but the plan is to get the workshop fully sorted first - almost total focus on the workshop, despite nagging to do other stuff. I should be out there now, but I'm researching how to hook the compressors to an air main (which is why I'm here). I'll see if I can find some pics of the lightweight wheels, new computer, so no idea where anything is anymore. But the wheels are nice, zinc sprayed and nato green powder coat. Just wheels, but I like them.

Until the lightweight is being built, here's a picture of the intercooler trial fitting in my 109 tdi (technology permitting).
