The second picture appears to be quite simple but in facts its a very high tech process. Pulsed TIG is used to apply a buildup coating of special alloy S/S and inconel type metals to provide waer coatings on steel.
TIG torch is on an ultra precise guide rail and the platform is a rotating table. Wire (Which can be pre heated) is fed down a tube to the tungsten to form the wled. The whole lot is controlled by a £150K control box that can just about control every parameter you can think of. Just look at teh quality of the weld !

And the rest, all the tooling is for the oil and gas world so they can charge what they want. This is the only company in the world that can do some of the things they do.
It's great cause every time I go to places like this I get to have a go with some proper toys, I've got it worked out that on my current rate of site visits (about 2 a week) I will have learned to weld by the time I retire
