I`ve been a member now for a few weeks and have been lurking and looking before posting anything much really.
Looking thru the forums and doing my reading etc (A hard thing for me to do as I`m hands on/practical learning type of person) But what a great site and a wealth of knowledge
I`ve discovered the art of MIG welding thru trial and error and just about getting there now.
I would post pictures of the structure I have built good bad and ugly ........Oh hell yes this could be in the tate modern . I started with the easy beads on plate and then tried all the horrid positions (I like a challenge)
Found I can push/pull with various amounts of competency
I prefer down hand mig over upright and found pushing is a nice way too for those hard to reach places. I`ve manage with good results to weld mild steel from 4mm down to 1mm and together in various positions and every conceivable position. Overhead not yet I remember the burns I got doing the ARC/GAS City and Guilds
TIG!! I'm really struggling with tho,so that's the next adventure to over come. Now i need to get out of the man cave I:e the practice place and do something I can be proud of.
Credit can`t just go to me as the welder. But the welder I bought Thermal arc 181i
So to recap . Thanks to all the members that add and provide info and help on here
