picked up one of thees to day at a car booty




there is a crack in the handle and it wasn't working but I know where there is another one with a broken switch in good condition but unfortunately when you press the crack together this one is now workingso im wondering will superglue hold it is there anything else out there that might be better it is plastic

Superglue may help. there is not a big surface area though, I would be tempted to superglue it then make a small bracing bit over the crack held on by whatever method was best.

use the old handle as a pattern for a mould and make a new fibreglass handle

Not too sure .
I used to repair many a 950 kangos , I think the plastic may be " weldable ", with the same spirit glue that you weld non greasy plastic waste pipe with ca. £ 6 from most plumbers merchants a small bottle

or
a similar but thicker spirit based stuff used in the production of UPVC windows and doors ca. £12 a big tube.
It's similar to the old airfix glues that melted the plastic, you'll need to keep the handle clamped up accurate and tight for a good two days due to the thickness of the plastic involved.

Weld up with a soldering iron, and some plastic 'filler' cut off something similar, if needs? Have done this with my bike lid visor among other placcy bits.

do they need to be serviced or are they a sealed unit

I superglue the handle and it seemed to have got a good grip there is a couple of ways I can brace it it's a little bit tricky as the lever for the switch goes through this part of handle

the good news is its working perfect surprisingly little ware on the trigger and tool holder it looks to have spent more time in the back of the van than working
so not too bad for €20

so not too bad for €20

the only serviicing required is check the carbon brushes and take the barrel off and re pack the dashpot slider and piston with kango grease . and a drop in the bearings .that becomes aparent when the hammer stops chisseling eg motor runs but nothing happens . use the proper grease though otherwise it wont work without the proper stuff . if it isnt broke dont fix it .apart from handle

the grease was mobilplex 47 ask at a oil supliers for an equivelant type

google kango 950 exploded view and scroll down 1st page kango diagrams i used to have the exploded view and parts lists as i used to repair them and hire them out manymoons ago though

Scarecrow if your in the Dublin area Swan Plant Hire are agents for Kango (well they were when I used to repair plant and tools) there in Ballymount or Cloghran out by the airport.
