karcher wand o ring size?

Ive got a little domestic karcher pressure washer.

The o-ring has gone where the high pressure hose connects to the machine.

Ive got one of those red-box o-ring selection kits (think toolstation etc) but none of the parts are the right size. The closest fits the groove on the wand, but then is that bit too fat to push into the hole on the pump. Next size down in thickness is too thin.

Someone must have been through this before me? There's even comments on the karcher spares site from people feeling hard done by, as they had to buy a whole spares kit for the one lance o-ring, after not being able to find the right one otherwise.

...but im hoping someone here has a better idea?

i had to buy a certain washer when i done mine a few years ago from bay of thives i might have one at home will have a look later as they came in a pack of 3 i think if you can message me if you have not herd any thing by 8pm

Think most of those hose ‘o’ rings are viton and slightly different size to standard ‘o’ rings

Check to see if any of the others on the unit need replacing, if so a complete kit may be better and are all genuine Karcher so the correct size:

There are metric and imperial o ring kits. Also more than one range in both. The hydraulic hose companies may sell you just the o ring you need. Sounds like you need a thinner cross section ring.

My units connector looks like the one here, but is entirely plastic -

Ive just taken a punt on them @ £1.49 delivered.

The o-rings are 11.0mm ID x 1.77mm across the material cross section, as measured. Not sure what the nominal dimensions are, but Seals Shop has 11.1mm x 1.78mm thick and Polymax do Viton 11.0 x 1.78 and 11.1 x 1.78mm. BS013 size is showing as 10.82mm ID x 1.78mm CS.

I had the same problem, it sounds like I also have the same box of O rings, loads of handy sizes but never the one you want.

I also fitted one that was ok on the internal diameter but would not push into the pump, luckily I found a drop of washing up liquid and in it went...tight and bone dry

Only just seen this but i grabbed a pack of 10 of ebay as i have hundreds but none would fit.
I even have loads from when we used to make compressed air rifles none would fit.......

I figured it was £1.59 or whatever off eBay, and a first class stamp has got to be about half that from you, so I just hit the buy button!

I did try fairy, but all the bits on mine are plastic, and it still looked like it was going to need more force than I trusted to plastic fittings. Might have worked, but might have heard that horrible ''click' also!

Got the washers this morning - they fit fine.

However, there is now water gushing out from the inside of the unit, so its a gonner anyway. Irritatingly i didnt even leave it out in the cold!

Someone gave me one of these cheaper karchers years back with the same fault, and the part to repair it was about as much as a new cheap washer, so i think this one is a write off, hence my new thread here -
