Good afternoon all, I got this little beauty for not a lot but it's in need of some love so here it is....



Its only a couple if years old too......



Who ever welded the stand forgot to clean up afterwards. Is this possibly the oldest slag in the country?

I couldn't resist.....

One of the first Jobs is to replace the clamp for the end of the removable roller. It must have broken in the past and someone has made a dogs dinner out of bits to replace it.

This 10mm steel, my little machine cuts nicely with minimal cleaning.

Next job is to jump on to a lathe..

Yep it's a nice little machine. Like any tool though you get what you pay for. It's not as much as a Hypertherm but the next one down in price at the time I bought it.

Glued it together. The welds would probably have been nicer if I'd bothered to clean the steel first but I doubt it will fall apart

Next job is to sort out the other dogs dinner on the cranking handle.
The original must have broken off and someone has attempted to replace with a wrong size piece of thread bar and a brook handle drilled on the p155

The wheel has a 1/2 Whitworth threaded hole for the handle so back on to the lathe for a bit of screw cutting...

Then drilled and tapped a 6mm hole for a cap head bolt.
Next job is to make an outer handle sleeve out of Aluminium

Got some 30mm aluminium and recessed the end for the retaining washer/bolt.

Sits in there nicely

Then turned a 4 degree taper on the other end.


Then fitted to the cranking wheel after a polish..

The old thermal dynamics were neigh on as good as Hypertherm.

The torches were better.

The new castors arrived today so now its finished.....
