Kit Car and Stuff

Hi Everybody,
I'm Andy, I've joined for the forum after lurking for ages, and I've finally invested in a "spares or repairs" welder, which hopefully I can get running. (Clarke 100EN) hopefully this will let me weld a new inner wing onto my project Ford!

Anyway, I'm also building a kit-car with my friends, my writing is very important to me (fighting to write a novel,) as are all things automotive.

Hey Andy only had quick flick through but looks a good blog! Is your 2b the early sliding pillar version or the later strut type(looks like later)? The robin hood owners club is really good for any help you need, were as the build videos aren't so good! Its not so bad starting from scratch with a Robin hood kit but the thing is with them theres a lot more "building/modifying" to be done than with other kits and the problem i had with mine was 2 other people had tryed to build it first, so was no end of cock ups!
Had a few kitcars over years started out with the Robin hood and loved that car! but the bike engined westfield was a hell of alot faster! Iam in process of restoring an old dutton at the minute thats been sat in a barn for years.

It's one of the first ones, so it's sliding pilar..... What fun!

The entire kit (stainless steel version), complete with boxes of brand new Ford components, a Vicky Green loom, engine, gearbox, vinyl, and all of RH's upgrade bits available at the time it was sold was bought for erm....."Rusty Metro Money...." That'd teach ya to list stuff properly on eBay!

Oh, a good friend of mine is a Dutton owner, he's got a early Phaeton?

I built a Locost from a Sierra and Capri bits, it's sold to someone in Holland now. I've helped build a few projects now and have another in the shed waiting for the enthusiasm to build up again, ZX9 powered Locost this time. When the weather picks up I must get back on it. I'm not far from the old Robin Hood suppliers and have had a few bits from them, keep up the good work.
