Knipex adjustables certainly have their place, but a good fitting spanner or socket is what is required.

I like my mini cobra's for doing up stuffing and bigger Knipex ones for swa glands!

I've never tried the ones @brightspark shows above although.

wouldnt mind trying them but i have umpteen ajustable spanners and 4 pairs of knipex waterpump ones

Always preferred rothenberger to knippex for grips

A spanner, adjustable or otherwise, is not always the answer when plumbing

I already have multiple sets of grips more than I know what to do with but what the hey you only live once.

I'll use an adjustable on glands if I have enough space to swing one!
Rothenberger used to be good but the last pair of those I bought seemed to be lacking the quality you get from Knipex!

I have something with a similar action,but as a ring spanner with a pivoting head.Some Australian invention from the 1970's ,but it never really took off.Oddly,it did work very well.

The regular Knipex Cobra's are great.

I couldn't see much point in the Raptor - it seemed useful for tie rods and that's really about all I could come up with.
You can get a parrot nosed vice grip which is similar as well.

I agree with @Barking Mat. It's best to use the optimum tool for each specific job, and I try to do that.

I'll admit, though, that I recently bought one of the Knipex parallel-jaw 'pliers wrenches,' which is handy to have in my back pocket or tool belt when I'm working out in the field or doing odd jobs around our property and can't conveniently carry many tools around with me, since it can suffice (at least in some situations) for a few different tools.

My favorite Knipex tool is a pair of round-nose pliers, which is great for things like bending solid-conductor wire into loops for terminal screws without gouging up the wire. Tonight I was cleaning the contents of one of my tool boxes and just finished washing the gunk off of these two guys a few minutes ago.

Yes, metric markings on one side and imperial on the other. There's enough movement range at each setting to work for both. Here's the other side:

paid that nearly for my big Knipex pipe/gland pliers....

20 years on the tools, I can use rothenberger grips with my eyes closed, whilst reaching round the back of an uninsulated cylinder that's still 60 degrees
